Quick Study: The Only Trait of a Leader
Most of you visiting this site will not have been along for the ride since the beginning, and so you might feel a little lost.
Well, don’t despair! I’ve created these Quick Study pages to pull together all of the central points that support a specific concept to make it easy for you to get a grasp on what’s gone before and to catch up with where we are now.
Right now the Quick Studies are organized around chapters in the book, pulling out the most essential posts necessary to get a quick understanding of the major topic areas. As the site grows and new dimensions are added to the content, however, I expect that new Quick Study pages will evolve. So even if you are (or become) a regular reader, it’s probably a good idea to check back to the Quick Study pages every once in a while just to make sure you haven’t missed anything or lost a bead on the big picture.
The 411
If you’re new to this site, this page is a pretty good place to start. It has pointers to information about the me (both the light snack and the full meal) and what I’m trying to accomplish with this site, and the book that it all springs from.
In pieces
We’ll be talking about the philosophy, tools, and skills that we all need to master to take a more proactive approach to managing our own contributions, careers, and success.
I’ll try to minimize, if not eliminate, pie-in-the-sky, high altitude, pointless philosophizing. Everything we’ll talk about is very down to earth, specific things that you can do to recognize and focus your own leadership abilities. We’ll talk big picture, but we’ll also talk shop with things like how to actively manage your career, and how to write and speak effectively (and why you should care).
We’re going to focus initially on 5 topic areas. For the ones we’ve already covered I’ve linked the topic to its own Quick Study page.
