Leadership notes from the field

I already mentioned this, but while a lot of the material on the site comes from the book, reading this site won’t be like reading a book.

The book covers five broad topics (leadership philosophy, managing and leading people, writing, speaking, and managing your own career) in two major areas (leadership philosophy and skills of the leader). To keep things lively I’m going to pursue all five tracks more or less simultaneously, though I’m still filling up the pipeline and haven’t gotten to three of them yet.

I’m also going to introduce new material that focuses more directly on sharing my specific experiences related to the topics we talk about. Things I have tried that worked, and things that didn’t work, and why I think things came out the way they did. I’ll also use these posts to talk about some of the tools, tips, and productivity techniques that have helped me manage my workflow more effectively. You can look for these posts categorized under field notes and productivity tools.

The first field notes post is coming right up…
